Arsenal are one of the best teams
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on Arsenal: “We go in every game to win, not prepare for the next game. Of course it’s in the back of my mind [FA Cup final] but I want to put out a team that is eager to win and we choose the best team for Sunday to win that game.
“I don’t take big risks with players now to win on Sunday, with the risk they drop out again but it’s not such a different situation if you have a cup final.
“Arsenal are one of the best teams or probably the best team, is it City or Arsenal? Very ball secure, very good structures. We know we have to play at our maximum levels to get a result but we are capable of it.”
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on Lisandro Martinez: “I just tried to explain, he is desperate to play. He misses it so much, the team missed him. He wants to play but he had three injuries across the season and now he is almost there, injury free, by the end of the healing process but now he has to get back into team training.
“I will never gamble with a player, never. It’s about them, their futures, it’s most important about their careers and the club is the most important, but the safety, health of the player is high level.”
On Rashford: “Marcus Rashford trained this morning as well, we have to see how he has recovered from this, hopefully he makes the training tomorrow and then he’s ready for Sunday.”
More from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on Mason Mount being ruled out of Sunday’s Premier League game with Arsenal.
Mount has had a desperate run of injuries since his summer move from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old has started only five Premier League games.
“He is very unlucky,” said Ten Hag.
“He is very robust. He only had a small issue at the end of his Chelsea career but apart from that he always played. It is very bad luck. We have really missed him.”
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on team news: “I hope I have players, yeah. Players trained, tomorrow, this morning, Bruno was on the pitch and Scott McTominay was back on the pitch. Some players are returning but yesterday Mason Mount fell out, so he will not be available for Sunday.”
On whether anyone is out for the season: “Not in this moment, definitely, we have some doubts, some players are fighting to be available, they all try, they are all desperate to play. Yesterday, Lisandro Martinez came to me and wants to play on Sunday against Arsenal but he’s not ready. There are more. Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof. Luke Shaw had a setback in his process but there is still hope.”
