Azeem defeats world youth champion

KUALA LUMPUR: The country’s sensational sprinter Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi finished the 100 meters (m) event in sixth place at the East Coast Relays Championships in Jacksonville, Florida, early this morning Malaysian time.

According to the tournament competition page, https://results.adkinstrak.com/meets/23782 , Muhammad Azeem representing Auburn University finished the race with a record of 10.14 seconds (s) at the tournament which took place at the University of North Florida.

This record also improved Uncle Sam’s first 100m race record when he won the Florida State University (FSU) Relays Championship which only recorded 10.32s last March.

The 19-year-old child born in Perak can also smile broadly when he succeeds in defeating the gold medal winner at the 2015 World Youth Sports Championship, Abdul Hakim Sani Brown from Japan, who finished in seventh place.

Muhammad Azeem took to his Twitter page to say: “10.14s and we are back to work! (10.14s and we are back to work!) Alhamdullilah”.
