Bomb explosion: Thai police close more than five illegal bases

SUNGAI GOLOK, SOUTHERN THAILAND – Sungai Golok Police closed more than five illegal bases around the area of ​​the bomb explosion and shooting incident in Pasemas, Narathiwat Province, here Monday midnight.

Sungai Golok Police Chief, Pol Col Jadsadavit Inprapan, who used a translator, said the closure of the base was temporary to allow the police to carry out further investigations and gather information from local residents.

“At the moment the situation is still under control and the residents are still going about their business as usual, even the arrival of tourists from Malaysia is not affected,” he told reporters after visiting the four policemen who were injured in the incident at the Sungai Golok Hospital here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the four Thai policemen who were injured in the incident are now in a stable condition and are receiving treatment at Sungai Golok Hospital.

Today, the Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun was reported to have said that the Malaysia-Thailand border, particularly in Rantau Panjang, was open as usual and was not closed following the incident.

Yesterday, the Royal Malaysian Police increased security control at the Malaysia-Thailand border following the incident which resulted in the injury of four Thai security personnel. – Named
