Haaland loves to score goals

Haaland loves to score goals

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, on Fulham players flying kites during training: “Are you sure?

“They play again in front of their fans and they will do everything to beat us, but about that [flying kites] I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

On Erling Haaland being angry at being substituted: “He loves to score goals and play like any other striker. His contributions when he arrived have been magnificent.”

On Rodri not being named in the Premier League team of the year: “The nominees deserve it. The winner of the trophy deserves it, the list is huge so everyone is important.

“Rodri knows what we think about the importance of him and the extraordinary player he is.

“He should not be worrying about that.”

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, on this being the tightest title race: “At the same stage as Liverpool those years.”

On no Champions League football being beneficial: “I would prefer to be in the semi-final of the Champions League, but congratulations to both teams.”

On Marco Silva: “Excellent. Not only this season, he was promoted with Fulham playing excellent football last season really well.

“His defences are really good and I admire him a lot.

“He had some problems at Everton, but at Fulham his impact is there.”

Fulham have had a good season but their performances have maybe dropped off a bit in recent weeks, while Manchester City are hitting their best form.

We know Marco Silva’s side can be dangerous because they have taken four points off Arsenal, so this is still a tricky game for City – but they are so efficient that I cannot see them slipping up.

Sutton’s prediction: 1-3

Serge’s prediction: 0-3

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, on supporting Man Utd when they play Arsenal: “I am a Man City fan and I will try to beat Fulham that is my only concern.”

On injuries: “Everything is fine.”

On Man City youth cup final game tonight: “This age is important, but this age it is not much.

“Of course, they have to try to win but it is a process to learn and when you play these finals you have to learn.”

On Mateo Kovacic’s form: “He played really well because he is not trying to play in the position of Ilkay Gundogan, but when he has played he plays in a certain way.

“For example against Nottingham Forest he was massively important and changed the game – he is really good.”

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is speaking now – he has obviously been pressed about Saturday’s game at Fulham, but also on the form of midfield lynchpin Rodri.

The Spanish midfielder has not been nominated for the Premier League player of the season, but Guardiola says the player knows how much his club appreciate him.
