Kedah rose to defeat Penang

ALOR SETAR: Kedah Darul Aman (KDA) FC came from behind to beat Penang FC 3-1 in pre-season action at the Darul Aman Stadium, just a moment ago.

The action, which also tested the referee’s assistance (VAR) video, was attended by nearly 4,000 supporters of the Canaries who wanted to see the latest level of preparation for Nafuzi Zain’s squad before moving on to the real competition of the Super League, next month.

KDA was first surprised by Penang FC’s opening goal which came in the 13th minute through a header from an imported player from Ghana, Richmond Ankrah.

However, the Canaries recovered to equalize after Habib Haroon’s shot in the 26th minute beat the opposing goalkeeper Shafiq Afifi.

Penang defender Adib Raop became VAR’s latest victim after he was shown a red card for bringing down player Sukhrob Nurullaev in the 34th minute.

KDA was in front after Milos Gordic finished a penalty kick in the 51st minute and he sealed the win for the Canaries when he scored the third goal in the 65th minute.
